Leviticus 26:14-39

God will punish us for our sins and will do so until we LISTEN to Him and hearken to Him. We can't ignore Him!

Oh, und for the sake of adding a random symbol:

Ah yes, I plan on writing here more often now, part of the remodeling revolution of my site. I will be posting here 2-3 times a week now :D

Ronald Reagan

I can't find the verses where but I know they are there, however, I was watching the Reagan funeral and "burial" yesterday, and I saw through people's stories and quotes that Reagan actually lived the Christian life. If you listen to the ongoing news reports you'll see what I mean.

He also has an infatuation with earlobes O,O

To honor Reagan, I've set up a page on my website as a tribute. The link is here someplace: My homepage--Newts Pond

David's Sin

A Lesson on Sin of All Sorts: Especially Lust
2 Samuel 12:1-15
"1.
And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
2. The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
3. But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
4. And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
5. And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:
6. And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
7. And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
8. And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
9. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
11. Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
12. For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.
13. And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
14. Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
15. And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
16. David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
17. And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
18. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
19. But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
20. Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.
21. Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.
22. And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
23. But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
24. And David comforted Bath-sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
25. And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD."
Sin has horrible consequences. David's son was killed because of his father's adultery. There is no sin that doesn't have consequences! Don't go out and not avoid sin, when you sin it will find you and you will be punished.  We will be closer to God if we don't sin, too.
Isaiah 1:10
"Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah."
The Lord doesn't give us commandments and rules for us not to pay attention to them. When we obey His Rules, then we stray from sin. We live in a generation of moral decay, and disobeying God doesn't help undecay it.

A study Bible

My sister showed me her study Bible. It was in the back porch, because she uses another one now. I thought it was pretty cool. The first verse I read in it was:
Esther 7:9 (this is KJV but the Bible is in NKJV)

And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.

So Haman died in v 10:

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.

Acts 8:26-40

[26] And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
[27] And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
[28] Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
[29] Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
[30] And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
[31] And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
[32] The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
[33] In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
[34] And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
[35] Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
[36] And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
[37] And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
[38] And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
[39] And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
[40] But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
We are to embrace every oppurtunity we have to spread the Word of God! Philip obeyed (that's a nice thing to do, eh?) the Angel of the Lord and witnessed to one man, at one time, and said man, an Ethiopian eunuch, who also was in high place in Ethiopia, got saved and baptised.  Then the man spread the Word to Ethiopia! You may not lead a revival, but you may lead a future revivalist to Christ.

John 14:13-16

We are to love our friends to death, literally. As Jesus loved us. We aren't servants of God, but His friends! Jesus is and always will be our "bestest best friend," and thus should we not be willing to die for Him, too?

Sermon on the Mount, Part I

Matthew 5:1-26
We are to rejoice when persecuted. We are the salt of the earth. If we hide, how will the world know of Jesus and salvation? We have to tell everyone about Jesus and salvation! Jesus came to fulfill the law not to betray it. I'm having  troubles deciphering some verses here...
If we kill we are to be killed, capital punishment. If we are angry at someone without cause we will be under the same judgement. Don't insult, or as internet fans say, flame each other. If angry with someone, extend the olive branch to them! So not to be put in trouble, agree with your adversary quickly. We can't escape our judgement until we pay for it!
Matthew 5:1-26
  1. And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
  2. And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
  3. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  4. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
  5. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
  6. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
  7. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
  8. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
  9. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
  10. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  11. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
  12. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
  13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
  14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
  15. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
  16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
  17. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
  18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
  19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
  20. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
  21. Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
  22. But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
  23. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
  24. Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
  25. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
  26. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing."

Witnessin'

Luke 24:44-48 is the Great Commission from Jesus! We are to be constantly witnessing and reaching people for Him! I wrote up a little tract (see below) based on another one,  and it has spread to several sites. You can post it, add it to merchandise (but please do not sell it by itself or with other tracts, keep it free!), print and distribute it, but please include a link to my site.
~~~~Actual Tract~~~~~
Romans Road-Copyright 2004 Newts Pond (http://www.freewebs.com/newts_site/index.htm) and Jesus! Feel free to distribute this with copyright included :D
Luke 24:2-3
"2And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre [tomb]. 3And they entered and found not the body of Christ."
Jesus left! He's not there anymore! Verse 4 says "...behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:"
It is thought that these are angels.
Several women were there, "10...which told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not."
Jesus Christ had told them before He was crucified that, after three days, He would rise again, yet the apostles believed not until they saw Jesus. In verse 12, Peter goes to the sepulchre, and the linen clothes Jesus was placed in were laid down themselves.
"Luke 24:12Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre [tomb]; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass."
Jesus is risen! Just like He said He would do!!! He died for your sins, and for my sins. Sins are the wrong things we do in our lives, and Jesus will cleanse us of the punishment for sin, being the spiritual death, going to Hell after you die...
You never know when Judgement Day will be...will you die today?
I'm going to pretend I'm talking to a lost person:
Q: If you died today do you know 100% that you would go to Heaven or would you have even a shadow of a doubt?
A: I'm not too sure...tell me more.
Q:  If I could show you in the Bible how could you know for sure, would you do what the Bible said if it was something you could do?
A: Um, it depends...
S(statement): There are four things God wants us to know do that we can know if we're going to Heaven when we die.
#1 The first thing God wants us to know is that we are all sinners.
Romans 3:10-"As it is written, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE."
Romans 3:23-"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:10 means everyone has sinned. Romans 3:23 means the same, we are not worthy to meet God.
Q: Do you agree with God that you are a sinner?
A: Sinner...which is?
AfromMe: Someone who does wrong in the Eyes of the Lord.
A: Oh, I guess *shrug*
#2 The second thing God wants us to know is that there is a penalty for sin.
Romans 6:23a-"For the wages of sin is death..." which means when we sin we immediately are on a track to hell.
Revelation 21:8-"But the fearful, and unbelieving...[<i>list of sins</i>]...and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth of fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Which means sinners go to hell after they die to burn for eternity-burn with worms that don't die, bite at you, and the gnashing of teeth is heard, you never get out! ew, I don't want to go there for ETERNITY-eternity being a  never-ending epoch.
Q: According to the verses listed above, does it sound like you are going to Heaven or does it sound like you are going to hell-"the lake which burneth of fire and brimstone: which is the second death.?"
A: Heh...
#3 The third thing God wants us to know is that Jesus died for us and His death is the ONLY hope we have to make it to Heaven.
Romans 5:8-"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." This can be explained simply by:
John 3:16-"For God so loved the world that He sent His only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish [go to hell] but shall have everlasting life."
Romans 6:23b-"...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Which means that all 3 verses say how God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross and rise again on the Third Day, Easter Sunday, for US! So that we can live with Him.
Q: Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you?
A: Yes.
#4 The fourth thing is this...we must believe that Jesus is the Lord our Saviour and ask Him to save us.
Romans 10:9-"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:3-"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord thou shall be saved."
These mean if we just ASK God, Jesus, to save us He will! We can go to heaven!
If you prayed this prayer, you're heaven bound, but you need to stay in God's Word if you want to grow closer to God, and to reach others with the same Truth you found today ^_^
Treating Your Enemies
Proverbs 25:21-2
Give your enemy what he or she needs. It is better to live poorly without fighting then to live richly with much fighting.
This isn't the best devotion, I didn't really find all there is here, but you have to understand I can't decipher these Proverbs as well as other parts of the Bible :'(
Average Day for an Apostle
Acts 16:16-34
Lady is possesed. Demon left. Paul commanded it out in Jesus' name. This does not justify "healings" done by pastors "in the name of Jesus."  Paul and Silas were beaten and jailed. They prayed and praised God. Musta seemed like they were crazy, praising God and praying at midnight in a disgusting Roman jail (worse then modern ones).  An earthquake happened and all the prisoners shackles were broken and doors were opened. A jailor almost committed suicide because of it, but Paul called him just in time, so he was saved.
I'll leave you to see the merit...
