Sinning

Psalms 119:25-32

We have to ask the Lord to keep us from sin, and ground ourselves in His Word, the Bible. If we are willing, the Lord will keep us from sin. We still will sin, but only when we are willing, and fall into temptation.

Knowing God

<!--Scripture: Pslams 119:25--!>
<!--Merit: We need to stay fresh in God's Word so that we don't stray from Him. Today I went outside and this boy who goes to my church didn't act like a Christian. He was cursing, trying to belittle me (notice trying), and acting horribly. He was planning on killing animals uselessly and knocking on peoples windows then running into the woods. Not many people like him. He acts really badly towards most people. How can anyone see if Jesus is in Him? I'm not saying Jesus is or isn't in that kid, but it doesn't seem like it. Do we, as Christians, want to be like that? What if you are like him, more or less? Are you saved? Are you pretending? I just thought this was interesting...---!>

Baby Dedications

sorry for not posting in so long, but I have been doing nightly devotions. here is a cool one:
Luke 2:23-24
Every male baby is to be dedicated to God. Idk about female. Should our church sacrfice the turtledoves/pigeons? Or have the sacrifices been fulfilled?

Other good Bible passages:
Psalms 119:24
Matthew 7:7-11

Luke 24:1-12

Luke 24:2-3
"2And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre [tomb]. 3And they entered and found not the body of Christ."
Jesus left! He's not there anymore! Verse 4 says "...behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:"
It is thought that these are angels.
Several women were there, "10...which told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not."
Jesus Christ had told them before He was crucified that, after three days, He would rise again, yet the apostles believed not until they saw Jesus. In verse 12, Peter goes to the sepulchre, and the linen clothes Jesus was placed in were laid down themselves.
"Luke 24:12Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre [tomb]; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass."
Jesus is risen! Just like He said He would do!!! He died for your sins, and for my sins. Sins are the wrong things we do in our lives, and Jesus will cleanse us of the punishment for sin, being the spiritual death, going to Hell after you die...

You never know when Judgement Day will be...will you die today?
I'm going to pretend I'm talking to a lost person:
Q: If you died today do you know 100% that you would go to Heaven or would you have even a shadow of a doubt?
A: I'm not too sure...tell me more.
Q: If I could show you in the Bible how could you know for sure, would you do what the Bible said if it was something you could do?
A: Um, it depends...
S(statement): There are four things God wants us to know do that we can know if we're going to Heaven when we die.
#1 The first thing God wants us to know is that we are all sinners.
Romans 3:10-"As it is written, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE."

Romans 3:23-"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:10 means everyone has sinned. Romans 3:23 means the same, we are not worthy to meet God.
Q: Do you agree with God that you are a sinner?
A: Sinner...which is?
AfromMe: Someone who does wrong in the Eyes of the Lord.
A: Oh, I guess *shrug*
#2 The second thing God wants us to know is that there is a penalty for sin.
Romans 6:23a-"For the wages of sin is death..." which means when we sin we immediately are on a track to hell.
Revelation 21:8-"But the fearful, and unbelieving...[list of sins]...and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth of fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Which means sinners go to hell after they die to burn for eternity-burn with worms that don't die, bite at you, and the gnashing of teeth is heard, you never get out! ew, I don't want to go there for ETERNITY-eternity being a never-ending epoch.
Q: According to the verses listed above, does it sound like you are going to Heaven or does it sound like you are going to hell-"the lake which burneth of fire and brimstone: which is the second death.?"
A: Heh...
#3 The third thing God wants us to know is that Jesus died for us and His death is the ONLY hope we have to make it to Heaven.
Romans 5:8-"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." This can be explained simply by:
John 3:16-"For God so loved the world that He sent His only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish [go to hell] but shall have everlasting life."
Romans 6:23b-"...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Which means that all 3 verses say how God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross and rise again on the Third Day, Easter Sunday, for US! So that we can live with Him.
Q: Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you?
A: Yes.
#4 The fourth thing is this...we must believe that Jesus is the Lord our Saviour and ask Him to save us.
Romans 10:9-"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:3-"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord thou shall be saved."
These mean if we just ASK God, Jesus, to save us He will! We can go to heaven!
If you prayed this prayer, you're heaven bound, but you need to stay in God's Word if you want to grow closer to God, and to reach others with the same Truth you found today ^_^

Psalms 119:22, 23

Psalms 119:22
"Remove from me contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies."
Dear Lord,
remove my sinful habits!
~~
The Lord will remove yours, und my sinful habits, but we must pray, stay close to Him, und do daily devotions.

Psalms 119:23
"Princes also did sit and speak againt me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes."
Even those in high places are against Christians. We must go on, even with persecution. David is a touching story which teaches this, and Jesus summarizes how to deal with persecution in one simple verse:
"Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
Matthew 5:12, KJV

Matthew 7:15-20, Psalms119:18-21

Sorry for not posting in a while...
Matthew 7:15-20
Beware of those who teach falsely, the come seemingly innocent, yet are vicious beasts. We shall know them by their fruit; what they produce in life, good, or bad.

Psalms 119:18-21
Ask God for wisdom, He will give you wisdom. God won't hide His commandments. Don't wish to escape His judgement. God rebukes the proud. Are you proud, aka cocky? 'Tis a good thing to get rid of that. You can ask God for help.

If you want to know Jesus as your personal Saviour, read the Romans Road post, at least the prayer, in a post a couple of entries down. You'll be glad you did ;) Jesus rejects NO ONE.

Psalms 119:12-17

Psalms 119:12-17
Blessed art thou, o Lord: teach me thy statutes. 13 With my lips have I declared all the judgements of thy mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. 16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
GIMEL
17 Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy
word.

If you ask Him, the Lord will tech you His Ways through His Word. Meditate on Gods Law, we should be be constantly meditating on His Word, so that we keep away from sin. God will "deal bountifully" with His servants if they are willing. If you're His servant, and you're willing to follow Him, then He can do anything through you, including revivals! Also, mind you, all though we may be God's servants, He is our Friend, the One who won't abandon us, even if our families were to do so (if they did...).

Psalms 119:11

You've got mail from the Lord. Why not check it?

"Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."
It seems to me, of course, that this part of Psalms 119 has something in common bombadil
They talk about following God, obeying Him, staying in His Word, but each verse points out something we all need to know clap
Some bloggers I know have been having problems following Him, although Psalms 119:11 doesn't point out everything on how to trust Him, it does have one thing you should never forget:
We are to study God's Word, the Bible, and learn from it, memorize at least Its Truths, so that we can resist temptation, and grow closer to God.
This small verse, not one line, has the magnitude to show one how to tunnel away from sin, and to live for Him. Interesting, isn't it?mousie.gif
